In last weeks article, "Labor Unions Repeating Disastrous Behavior," we presented some examples of the rigid uncompromising positions of Unionism.

A perfect example of Gang Insurrection can be seen in the current situation in Greece.

To avoid bankruptcy another bail-out by European Ally's is being arranged which requires drastic budget reductions in many areas including Unions.

That has sparked riots, pillaging and burning as presented in the following article.

(Reuters) - The Greek parliament approved a deeply unpopular austerity bill to secure a second EU/IMF bailout and avoid national bankruptcy, as buildings burned across central Athens and violence spread around the country. (More.)

Recognizing that similar future severe cuts are looming right here in America, it is not outside the realm of reason that the same unrest could happen right here as well.

Accordingly, we should be ever alert and in constant contact with our Local, State, and National Leaders, insisting that they have in place contingency plans that will not tolerate such insurrection by Unions here in America.

We must remember that anything of this magnitude could affect every City, County, and State in America.

Labor Unions Repeating Disastrous Behavior

Not so long ago, Texas Government took the noble and proper step to reign in spending to avoid the financial disasters now facing New York, California and Other States for Unfunded Liabilities created by Greedy Public Employee Unions.

Cut backs to avoid bankruptcy are viciously attached by Employee Labor Unions, who don't give a tinkers damn where the money comes from as long as they get theirs.

So now Texas Teachers Unions are demanding a Special Session to get back major cuts designed to keep us from the same disasters now eminent in New York, California and many other States.

Several examples of the destructive power of unions has been experienced by this writer beginning in 1942 when I became a Federal Employee with the Army Air Corps.

     * Being a $1 dollar 16 hour per day Country Cedar Chopper Farm Worker, when I arrived at Kelly AFB, I didn't come there to goof off.  I challenged my fellow workers to a race to see who could get the most work done in an 8 hour day, and within a week the whole days work was done by 10 am, which brought the Chief in to find out what happened.  All fingers pointed to me, after which I was immediately promoted from Clerk, to one of the First IBM Tabulating Machine Operators at Kelly AFB.  I quickly became an expert, was promoted three times the first year.  During this time a Union Type Guy cornered me and informed me I was working too hard and should slow down for I was taking food off somebody else's table, to which I responded get the Hell out of my way, you will be working for me in 5 years, and he was.  I went into the service, and because of my specialty was brought right back to Kelly for the duration.  Afterwards I was brought back to Kelly with promotion and served 31 years to become a Civilian Computer Systems Officer, having played a prominent role in the advancement of Computer Technology in The Air Force.  In my final years as a High Grade Executive, in addition to serving the Chief of The Management Division of this massive Computer Center, I was assigned Management Representative to fight The Unions who seemed Hell Bent on challenging most of our decisions on the hiring and promotion of personnel.  My counter parts in Wright Patterson Headquarters, and in The Pentagon warned that unless the Labor Problems at Kelly (which were worse than all the rest of the Air Force put together), were corrected, a day would come when Kelly would be shut down. And, as we all know that threat came to pass.

     *  During my tour at Kelly, I was for 3 years drafted by a private Corporation to serve under the President and to use IBM Machine to help him gain control of his million dollar inventory.  During that time his employees who had been carried by him though the Great Depression, decided they would Unionize.  So much for loyalty where Unions are concerned.  Incidentally they lost!!!!!

     *  Another eye opener occurred in 1962 when I attended an Executive Seminar at The University of Houston along with top Executives of many Leading Texas Corporations.  Arthur Goldberg as Secretary of Labor Under President Kennedy was a Key Note Speaker.  I asked him the avowed purpose of the labor movement, and his response was this:  "Mr. Stubbs the avowed purpose of the labor movement is more and more pay for less and less work, and if you go broke it is not the Union's fault"!!!!!!!!!

     *  In the 80's a Local Police Union Contract was presented as $17 million as I recall, which actually turned out to be $52 million because the Mayor & Council didn't read the contract.  I organized a petition campaign to abolish Collective Bargaining, and over night got the required signatures to call a special election.  The Union Leader and his Attorney Threatened to sue every citizen that signed the petition.  I was hauled before the Union Chief and His Attorney (At Considerable Personal Attorney Fees For Me).  The suit never came to pass but both The Union Chief and His Attorney both ended up in prison for other improper acts.

So, you see I have no respect nor admiration for Unions.  And I might add, I hope the Governor and State Legislature will not bow down to the Teacher Employee Unions.  Other Unions demanding excessive wages and benefits have driven American Jobs Overseas, and which without Government Bailouts, would have destroyed the American Automobile Industry.  And finally the collective power of all Unions are largely responsible for trillions in Unfunded Liabilities which can never be paid, and will be known as major contributors to the possible FUTURE CRASH TO BE KNOWN AS AMERICA IN BANKRUPTCY.

I spend endless hours of going over governmental and research sources and try to relay the facts on what I find.  Just as in my prior report on Onerous Debt, you will find the following equally troublesome.

LAWSUIT ABUSE! 
The following is a quote from a great organization, SICK OF LAWSUITS .  This is the kind of organization of which we can be proud. 

The U.S. tort system cost $248.1 Billion in 2009, which translates  to $808 per person. (The 2010 Update on U.S. Tort Cost Trends, Towers Watson, 2010)."

The cost of this $248.1 Billion gets added to the cost of doing business by those sued, and we consumers pay for most of it as an added costs of their products and services.

GOVERNMENT REGULATORY COMPLIANCE COST:

According to The Grandfather Economic Report Series, "Complying with government regulations consumes $2 Trillion ($1,590 Billion federal mandates, $446 Billion state & local government mandates, ie., 17% of the economy's national income, or $6,610 per person."

HIDDEN TAXES, HOW MUCH DO YOU REALLY PAY?:

Thankfully, in my search for truth, I ran across the Institute For Policy Innovation.  I know this outfit to be beyond reproach, because two of my Super Hero's;  Dr. John Berthoud, President of National Taxpayers Union Foundation, and Dr. J. D. Foster, Executive Director and Chief Executive Chief Economist  of The Tax Foundation, are members of The Editorial Board.  I am a member and supporter of their outstanding research organizations.

While their Policy Report 160 was published in July 2001, there is nothing in taxation that has done other then get worse.  So you can be confident that the facts quoted below have become infinitely worse in the past decade.  For more details on this 24 page report, go to: www.ipi.org. 

  Quote: "Federal income taxes represent only 42% of the tax burden total of U.S. taxpayers.  The remainder is hidden , distorting taxpayer awareness of their real tax burden and the true cost of government.  Only fundamental tax reform with an emphasis on visibility can insure  a fair tax code that allows taxpayers to evaluate whether they are getting their money's worth from government.

Despite all the attention given to federal income taxes, they represent only 42% of the total cost Americans carry each year.  There is at least $657.5 billion in additional hidden taxes -- $2,642 per person -- that is not visible to taxpayers.  If more American's realized that their total tax burden equaled 56 percent of annual  personal consumption spending, there might be a second Revolution." Among many staggering problems in America, debt is one that affects us all particularly when the greatest perpetrator is the Federal Government, which is Hell Bent on converting our Republican Form of Government to a European Socialist System.

One of my prime sources of sterling research comes from The Grandfather Economic Report Series of which there are many chapters.  Thus, from this chapter of the report we are discussing BOTTOM-LINE--DEBT SUMMARY TABLE AMERICA'S TOTAL DEBT (As of Jan 1, 2011)
- 57 Trillion -

- add another $117 trillion for other contingencies such as Social Security/Medicare/Medicaid -

This shows $14 trillion of debt  for Federal Government as of the end of 2010, State and Local Government debt of $2.5 trillion, and $40.5 trillion of private (household, business and financial sector debt).

These sum to $57 trillion -- equivalent to $185,668 per capita, or $742,672 per family of 4.  Again, this does not include $117 trillion in unfunded contingent liabilities such as Social Security/Medicare/Medicade.

The magnitude of this problem defies imagination.  For example:  How big is a billion?  A mathematician in a book Fun With Mathematics took a quarter and multiplied its size 1 billion times and it was big enough to set the earth inside it!

Or, how big is a trillion.  A radio commentator recently cited this:  take 1 trillion silver dollars and lay them side by side to cover the entire State of Texas, and you would need to keep this up until you covered Texas with 24 inches of silver dollars!!!

Folks, this debt business has reached disastrous proportions, and how, or who will pay it off?  Some of my favorite researchers in Washington, The Tax Foundation, made a calculation that every little kid born now will be condemned to an average lifetime tax rate of 84% to keep the system from collapsing.

Finally, how interested is the crowd in Washington in solving the problem?  Not much!!!!!

Every day Federal Debt increases $4.2 billion.  Obama is now asking for another $1.2 trillion increase that will bring federal debt to a new height of over $16 trillion.  And this does not include any of the other debt discussions above. 

What can we do, you and I Dear Friends?  Get informed, get active, and help remove those who are taking America to ruin.

In future articles, I will cover some of the possibilities.  But, the time grows short, and unless enough of us mobilize and resist, you can kiss the America of The Founding Fathers Goodbye!!

What an Honor to have the opportunity to serve in so many ways those who do all the paying, but have had little in the saying about excessive and oppressive taxation, spending and debt.

In 1999 when R. G.
