Norma Jean Griffing, 74

Devoted wife and mother Norma Jean Griffing has passed away, following complications from surgery. She was 74.

She died at 9:30 AM on Memorial Day at Shannon Hospital in San Angelo.

Norma is survived by her husband, James, and four sons; Michael, Richard, Daniel and Patrick; and daughter Heather Christmann.

Norma was born in 1929, in Dublin, Texas. Her parents were L.E. and Vera Mayfield.

Norma grew up in Abilene, and married James there; and the couple reared their five children in Albuquerque, New Mexico. In 1969 the family moved back to Texas.

Norma was an avid and expert bridge player in her younger years; and always had a keen interest in politics and decorating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you remember Norma in your prayers.

Private services were held in Coleman.

'Untouchables'
Star Robert Stack
Robert Stack, whose granite-eyed stare and menacing baritone spelled trouble for television's fictional criminals in ``The Untouchables'' and real ones in ``Unsolved Mysteries,'' died at his home. He was 84.Stack's wife Rosemarie found him slumped over at about 5 p.m. Wednesday. He died of heart failure, she said. The actor had undergone radiation treatment for prostate cancer in October. Billionaire U.S. philanthropist John Paul Getty II died at a London hospital on Thursday at the age of 70, his doctor said in a statement. Getty, who developed a love of Britain bordering on the fanatical, lived in the country for nearly 30 years and even built a replica of London's Oval cricket ground at his 2,500-acre Wormsley Lodge estate in southern England. 'Mac' MacDonald, 77
Noted Veteran Texas Airman
Glenn "Mac" MacDonald began his profession as a pilot with the US Army Air Corps in the 1940s, serving his country proudly for over 20 years. After retiring from the Air Force, Mac continued serving in the reserves at Ellington Field in Houston. He was an executive officer with Air National Guard at Ellington Field. Mac had received certification in the NASA Space Shuttle simulator and was an instructor for California Eastern Airlines. Mac was the Curator and Chief Pilot for the Lone Star Flight Museum.
