CPS Hits Customers Hard
Blames Generating Plant Shutdown
SAL Staff
The City's
Electric company has shocked its customers with
electric bills that soared as much as 10% for
last month, following the shutdown of the Spruce
power plant, following a fire at the coal powered
facility in June.
Mike
Kotara, spokesman for CPS, told reporters that
the utility is having to buy electricity from the
Texas grid.
He also
placed some blame on customers for over use
during the hot summer that simmers in SA.
The
generating station could be back on line by mid
July.
