Remember that famous Seinfeld scene in Monk’s Restaurant in which George tries to defend his bulky brick wallet to Jerry and Elaine?

George:  “Important things go in a case.  You’ve got a skull for your brain, a plastic sleeve for your comb, and a wallet for your money.”

Jerry:  “Look at this thing.  It’s huge! You’ve got more cow here (pointing to George’s wallet) than here (pointing to his hamburger).”

George:  “I need everything in there!”  (Jerry begins to pull out random items from George’s wallet)

Jerry:  “Irish money?”

George:  “I might go there.”

Jerry:  “Show this card any at any participating  Orlando-area Exxon station to get your free ‘Save the Tiger’ poster?”

George:  “Give me that!”  (George grabs back his wallet).  “My back is killing me!”

Jerry:  “Of course.  Because of that wallet!  You’ve got a filing cabinet under half of your butt.”

George:  “This is an organizer, a secretary and a friend.”

Elaine:  “Look at you. You’re on a slant!”

George:  “I just need a couple of napkins.  (He stuffs some napkins in his opposite rear pocket in order to achieve balance and sit up straight)  There... I’m fine!”

While that episode was humorous to watch, millions of men have wallets that are bulky and unwieldy, much like the one portrayed on Seinfeld.  The Savvy Caddy slim wallet finally solves the problem once and for all.

“The average man’s wallet is equivalent to the thickness of two decks of cards,” said Alan Beckley, 55, the inventor of the Savvy Caddy Wallet, which retails for $24.95.  “No wonder so many guys hate sitting on thick wallets at work or when driving in a car.”

Back in 2002, Beckley got so tired of sitting on his bulky wallet stuffed with hard-to-find cards, that he invented the solution:  a wallet laid out like a photo album which, amazingly, held twice as many cards, but was half as thick.   In developing his wallet, he talked with well over 1,000 men and discovered something interesting: many men carried wallets that were 1, 2, even 3-inches thick stuffed with 15 credit cards, store cards, gift cards, insurance cards and savings cards. Not to mention pictures, receipts and business cards.

Inventing the product and obtaining two patents turned out to be the easy part of developing the Savvy Caddy wallet.  Beckley soon discovered that less than 5% of patent holders ever make a cent.  The hard part was getting it into the marketplace successfully.

After putting some serious skin in the game by selling the wallet in person at festivals and events, he finally convinced QVC, the largest home shopping network, to promote his Savvy Caddy wallet in the fall of 2009.   He went on air before millions of QVC buyers, in four shows in two years with QVC hosts David Venable, Nancy Hornback, Jacque Gonzales and Jane Treacy, he sold 5,000 wallets.

Made of genuine leather, the Savvy Caddy Wallet has these key features:

·         Slim.  Half as thick as other wallets.

·         Capacity & Visibility.  Though half as thick, it holds up to 16 cards, all of which are visible in clear pockets and can be retrieved instantly as needed.

·         Flexible.  It flexes  for back pocket comfort – even on long car drives. It conforms to your anatomy instead of reforming your anatomy.

·         Privacy.   Patented privacy flaps are designed to cover your cards from prying eyes.

In our tough economy , Alan Beckley is a rare success story, becoming his own boss and achieving the American dream.

Starting his career as an engineer at Boeing where he worked on the 747 Project, this entrepreneur worked as a telecom project manager for 27 years at Alcatel, Ericsson and AT&T before leaving the corporate world to sell Savvy Caddy wallets full time.  While he lives in Dallas, Alan has adopted San Antonio where he personally sells his Savvy Caddy wallets at USAA and Alamo-area military bases including Lackland Air Force Base and Randolph Air Force Base.  Beyond the 5,000 wallets sold on QVC, Beckley has sold an additional 4,000 wallets and they continue to sell across America and worldwide on his website: http://www.savvycaddy.com.

“I love San Antonio.  And, from the response I’ve received thus far, San Antonio loves the Savvy Caddy wallet,” said Beckley.  “There’s no reason for folks to suffer with a painful George-Costanza rump bump.  Fire your chiropractor.  And buy a Savvy Caddy wallet.”
